Natural Anti-Inflammatory: A Personal Journey and a Golden Recipe

Living with digestive issues can be a challenging journey, one filled with discomfort and frustration. Adding to that the shadow of endometriosis and monthly debilitating period pains, which were undoubtedly linked to my digestive intolerances. Combining this with having to use conventional anti-inflammatory drugs to alleviate my monthly discomforts provided a fleeting respite, but their side effects plunged me into a cycle of more digestive issues and hence more monthly discomfort.

Using turmeric as a natural anti-inflammatory

It was amidst this turmoil that I discovered the gentle yet profound healing powers of turmeric. Turmeric, with its golden hue and centuries-old legacy in herbal medicine. While it may not wield the same brute force as pharmaceuticals, its benefits are as bountiful as the earth from which it springs. Driven by a love for herbal remedies, I delved into the science behind turmeric's anti-inflammatory prowess.

Curcumin, its active compound, dances through the body, soothing inflammation as a potent natural anti-inflammatory.

Incorporating turmeric into my daily routine became a ritual of self-care, a gentle reminder that healing is a journey, not a destination.

And so, I crafted a recipe infused with love and healing intentions, this concoction that nourishes both body and soul which I would like to share with you:

Golden Healing Elixir Recipe


Ingredients:

150ml warm oat milk

150ml hot water (around 80 degrees Celsius)

1/2 to 1 tablespoon ground turmeric

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Grind of black pepper

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger


Optional:1-2 grams of ground ashwagandha

1/2 teaspoon coconut oil


Instructions:

Put all the ingredients in a cup and pour a little of the milk on top of the ingredients.

Stir until you get a smooth paste with no clumps. Slowly pour the hot water into the cup while stirring gently, then top off with the warm milk.


Infuse with intention:

Sit down, bringing your attention to your body, and infuse each sip with healing intentions.


This golden elixir, infused with the warmth of oat milk and the vibrancy of healing spices, has become my sanctuary.


With each sip, I imbue it with intentions of healing, allowing its soothing embrace to envelop me in a cocoon of comfort.





As I sip on this sacred brew, I am reminded of the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless healing potential found in nature's embrace.
